I feel very empowered and proud as a woman owned business, and what makes me even prouder is to also be able to support and cheer on other female small business owners who impress me with their creativity, hard work and talent. I have been so lucky to meet many cool artists over these last 9+ years, but when it's a fellow girlboss, and even better, someone based locally, I can't help but want to brag about them being a part of The Little Apple!
So here are a few of my favorite local artists whose work is currently making the shop a lot more special and cool!

During the day I run an auto body shop with my brother, and by night I’m in my home studio sculpting little, clay ladies one by one. Working in a predominantly male industry has only further encouraged me to continue representing women and showing off who we are. I think it’s important to represent every shape and color and celebrate our naturally beautiful curves and lumps. We’re each unique in our own ways, it’s empowering to put that on display and help other women feel seen.
We use 100% locally foraged Sycamore wood. We are proud to be a sustainable Philadelphia company. We love bringing nature into your home with our OOAK pieces.
Using original illustrations, owner and artist Emily Hendrie creates high quality fine art prints, home goods and stationery in a splashy watercolor style for her brand Meadowbrook Lane. Based on the East Coast, Emily grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania surrounded by rolling hills, 19th century stone barns, babbling streams and fish-filled ponds, serving as inspiration for Meadowbrook Lane. Her childhood home was lined with apple trees and in the evenings they would watch the families of deer eat the fallen apples from the trees. So, in homage to her home she created Meadowbrook Lane and used a blooming apple branch as her symbol.
I consider the shop a little different from card shops out there. Only our text is printed on each card. All shapes are cut, assembled, and backed to pop off the page & come to life. All products are designed, crafted, and shipped from our studio in Pennsylvania. Our promise is to give you products that are one-of-a-kind and 100% handmade in the United States.
